BPI

Our Blasting, Painting & Insulation (BPI) division specialises in advanced corrosion protection solutions for both carbon steel and stainless steel equipment and piping systems. We provide comprehensive protective services designed to extend the lifespan of assets, improve operational reliability, and protect infrastructure operating in demanding industrial environments.

Our services include high-quality cladding and lagging solutions, which are carefully designed to shield equipment from corrosion, environmental exposure, and temperature-related stress. By combining proven application techniques with precision workmanship, we ensure long-lasting protection for pipelines, vessels, and structural components.

To maintain the highest standards of durability and performance, we utilise materials exclusively sourced from reputable, industry-leading manufacturers. This guarantees that every project benefits from certified products that meet strict quality, safety, and industry specifications.

With a strong focus on quality control, safety, and efficiency, our BPI team delivers corrosion protection systems tailored to the specific requirements of each project, ensuring long-term protection, reduced maintenance costs, and optimal performance of critical assets.

Machining

Machining is a manufacturing process used in heavy engineering to shape, cut, and finish metal components with high precision. It involves removing material from a solid workpiece using specialized cutting tools and machinery to achieve the required dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances.

In heavy engineering, machining plays a critical role in the production and refurbishment of large industrial components used in sectors such as mining, energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, and construction. Components such as shafts, flanges, valves, pump housings, gears, and pipe fittings often require machining to ensure they meet exact engineering specifications.

Common machining processes used in heavy engineering include:

  • Turning: Performed on a lathe to create cylindrical parts such as shafts, pins, and rollers.

  • Milling: Uses rotating cutting tools to remove material and create flat surfaces, slots, and complex shapes.

  • Drilling and Boring: Used to create or enlarge precise holes in metal components.

  • Grinding: A finishing process that improves surface quality and ensures tight tolerances.

  • CNC Machining: Computer-controlled machines that provide high accuracy and repeatability for complex components.

Machining is essential for ensuring that large fabricated parts fit together correctly during assembly. It is also widely used in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, where worn or damaged components are re-machined or refurbished to restore them to their original specifications.

Valves

Valves play a critical role in heavy engineering systems by controlling the flow, pressure, and direction of liquids, gases, and slurries within pipelines and processing equipment. In large-scale industrial environments such as mining, power generation, petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities, and manufacturing operations, valves are essential for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of complex mechanical systems.

When Valves Are Needed

Valves are required whenever a process involves the transportation or control of fluids through piping systems. In heavy engineering applications, they are typically installed at key points in pipelines, processing units, storage systems, and machinery where flow regulation or isolation is necessary.

They are commonly used when:

  • Starting or stopping fluid flow in pipelines and process systems.

  • Regulating pressure and flow rates to maintain stable operating conditions.

  • Isolating sections of piping during maintenance, repair, or emergency shutdowns.

  • Preventing backflow, which can damage equipment or contaminate processes.

  • Protecting equipment by releasing excess pressure from systems.

  • Directing flow between different process routes in complex piping network
